What our clients are saying about us.
“Kevin is easy to deal with and accommodating when difficult situations arise as they often do with our complex business. Kevin supplies seedlings each year that easily meet our specifications and volumes.
The time, effort and attention to detail that Kevin puts into his crop shows by the quality that comes out the gate. We have no hesitation in recommending NFN to any forestry organisation wanting seedlings grown in the Northland region.”

“NFN have grown and produced seedlings for us since 2007. At this time I was amazed by Kevin’s blunt statement that his seedlings would easily achieve a survival rate well above our target.
Kevin was correct and seedlings supplied by NFN have consistently allowed us to achieve survival rates as close to 100% as is practicable. Preparation and handling at NFN, combined with daily deliveries, results in a lack of stress to the seedlings. They barely know they’ve been moved and ‘Hit the ground running’ when replanted.
The ensuing excellent initial growth has resulted in a significant reduction in the need for releasing in years 2 and 3 and this is no longer a common practice in our Northland estate, in fact it’s now rare. It’s not just the seedlings that have a relatively stress-free experience.
Thanks NFN!”

“Northland Forest Nursery has supplied Summit Forests New Zealand Limited with P.radiata seedlings for seven seasons now.
The Nursery is very well managed, and during that time they have always supplied us with seedlings that are grown to meet our specification, and that are in good health.
Summit forests provides our own sourced seed each year for the Nursery to germinate and grow for us into seedlings. We target 20,000 to specification seedlings per Kg of seed. This target is regularly met, which is a great result for us and allows us to meet our seedling requirements each year, while also allowing us to accurately predict and pre order seed for the following year.
Each year we set a schedule with the Nursery well ahead of time to ensure that the undercutting and topping are completed on time. This ensures seedlings that are suitably ‘hardened’ and ready for planting.
Northland Forest Nursery have always been able to manage our orders, even when we are asking for 40,000 seedlings per day, and the box counts are always accurate which is very important.
Due to the high-quality product we receive from this nursery, our survival rates always meet our expectations even in the drier sand country.”
